Magdalena Vietoris on 8 April 1932, the fourth born of six girls. The maternal roots lie in the Tyrol. The family Riccabona comes from the Fiemme Valley in South Tyrol, in the middle of the Dolomites. But just as Tyrolean feel the father, Leopold Vietoris, who gets to know an officer in the First World War the mountains. The family moved to the third child to the Tyrol. Magdalena early loses her mother, who died a month after the birth of the last girl to puerperal fever. A year later the father married a sister of his wife, with whom he lived to a ripe old age. Professor Leopold Vietoris dies at 111 years and Magdalena, who looked for him, found in the "home Notburga" their "second home."
